Get your students out of their seats with these systems of equations task cards! This low-prep activity is perfect for Algebra I practice or Algebra II review!
This activity includes 16 problems that require the students to solve systems of linear equations using graphing, substitution, and elimination.
Since these systems of equations task cards are self-checking, your students can work independently or in pairs to complete these with little to no help from you. You will finally be able to walk around the room and observe while your students problem-solve and discuss strategies. These task cards also include an identical set with QR Codes removed.
This system of linear equations activity includes:
✅ 16 questions for solving linear systems by graphing, substitution, and elimination
✅ Student recording sheet
✅ QR code on every question makes this activity self-checking
✅ Set of task cards without QR codes
Ways to use these multiplying polynomials task cards in your Algebra 1 class:
Individual Whiteboards – Present a task card to the whole class for your students to complete individually at their desks. Once they have solved the problem, they can show you their whiteboard and you can give them immediate feedback. This is my go-to activity when my original lesson plan doesn’t work out or my students need extra practice before moving on to the next skill.
Gallery walk – Hang task cards around the room and have small groups work to solve the answers. Rotate the students and have the next group add to the previous group’s work with a different strategy, idea, etc.
Test review – Mix and match the task cards to assess your students’ understanding of the material before test day.
