This transformations of functions activity is perfect for extra practice, math centers, or test review in your Algebra 2 classroom! This digital and printable card sort will reinforce cubic function transformations and can supplement any lesson plan.
The digital card sort includes:
✅ Slide 2 – Drag and drop the transformation rule to the definition.
✅ Slide 3 – The students are given two graphs of cubic functions and need to match them with the correct translations.
✅ Slide 4/5 – There are three functions on each slide and the students will match multiple transformations with the graph shown.
This version is Google Slides compatible so that the students can have their own copy to complete. There are four slides with questions that students will need to solve, then drag and drop their answers from the margins and match them with the correct problem.
The printable version can be used as an independent cut-and-paste activity or laminated for group work. I love using card sorts as sub plans because the cutting and gluing takes up some extra time and keeps my students engaged for a longer period of time.
