Have you noticed that your Algebra 2 students just follow the steps of a problem, but don’t actually understand it? This discovery activity for graphs of exponential functions allows the students to change the values of each part of the equation to see different transformations. This entire Google Sheet is editable and pre-coded to change the y-values based on the a, b, x, h, and k inputs.
Your students will then answer open-ended reflection questions based on their observations. The follow up questions are available in a digital or printable format. All of the questions are editable and clearly mark where students should respond.
This activity is perfect for introducing transformations of exponential functions, group/center work, or sub plans.
