Engage your kinesthetic Algebra 1 students with this Halloween themed slope from two points activity! This digital or printable card sort can be used for independent practice, group work, or a formative assessment.
This activity includes:
✅ Review of finding slope from graphs
✅ Finding slope from two points
✅ Challenge slide: writing equations in slope-intercept form from two points
✅ 14 scaffolded questions
✅ Digital version includes 6 student slides and answer key
Use the digital card sort for extra practice, math centers or test review. This activity is Google Slides compatible so that the students can have their own copy to complete. There are three slides with questions that students will need to solve, then drag and drop their answers from the margins and match them with the correct problem.
The printable version can be used as an independent cut-and-paste activity or laminated for group work. I love using card sorts as sub plans because the cutting and gluing takes up some extra time and keeps my students engaged for a longer period of time.
A full set of teacher directions and answer keys is included for both versions of this card sort activity.
How to use this activity to differentiate in your Algebra 1 classroom:
This finding slope from two points card sort has built-in scaffolding to meet your students where they are. Each slide gives more possible answers than the number of questions. Your students will have the confidence builder of an answer bank without being able to rely on the process of elimination.
For less differentiation, you can use the printable version as a standard worksheet without matching cards.
